New Orleans

“You don’t need magic to disappear. All you need is a destination. ”

It has been a tradition every year since I’ve been with my boyfriend that we take a trip to a state or to another country to celebrate our love to one another and just enjoy each other company. The first year we went to Poconos, 2nd year we took a cruise to the Caribbean, 3rd year we went to Texas and this year we’ve decided on New Orleans!!

I got super excited because New Orleans is known as one of the best states for Cajun and Creole food. Being from New York you don’t usually see a lot of Cajun and Creole restaurants. I have to admit I never eaten any Cajun/ Creole food so this was totally different than what I eat at home. Through out the years I’ve develop a passion for all sorts of food and I just LOVE EATING! Im not going to lie about that.

So before we headed to New Orleans we paid ~500$ for both of our flight tickets flying Delta leaving JFK. It takes approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes to get to New Orleans. We had an early flight so we decided not to eat anything and just go to any restaurant upon arrival to eat. My boyfriend and I arrived at Louis Armstrong Airport at 10:40 am. The hotel, activities and restaurant suggestions were given to us from my boyfriend sister that is a flight attendant for Delta and regularly goes out to New Orleans.

We stayed at a hotel called Omni Royal Crescent just five minutes in walking distances to the French Quarter.

[Quick Tip: Bring a pair of sneakers to NOLA because everything is walking distance and you don’t need a car. You would be happy I promise you that. ]

The hotel wasn’t bad at all but the only concern I had was that everyone was sharing the employees elevator because the customers elevator was under repair. But other than that everyone was super friendly. Our room was clean and very spacious and they have a small whirlpool and clean gym on the 6th floor. You definitely wouldn’t miss it. They also have a restaurant in site but we never step foot inside cause the reviews weren’t that great and we just wanted to venture out.

On my next post I’m going to post all the Restaurants I went to in New Orleans and I’ll include my honest opinion about them with tons of picture. I can’t wait to share my  experience with all of ya’ll.
